Feb 9, 2010: MDMK general secretary Vaiko on Monday appeared before a Chennai court in a case against him for his speech on Eelam at a meeting in Chennai in October 2008.

Vaiko appeared before III Additional Sessions Judge here. The case has been posted for March 29. He was accompanied by party leader Nanjil Sampath and advocates.

A charge sheet had been filed against him under sections 124 A (sedition) IPC and section 13 (1) (d) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act for his speech.
