Alliance decision during election time: DMDK
Mar 10, 2010: Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) presidium chairman Panruti S Ramachandran has said the party would take a decision on any alliance for the next Assembly polls only when the elections approach.

Talking to journalists in Tirupur Monday, he said: “Within five years of its formation, the DMDK won the hearts of the voters and became a prominent party. Hence it is not correct to say that the party was beaten squarely in the elections faced.”
On the Mullaperiyar issue, Ramachandran said the Tamil Nadu government should have filed a review petition to ensure that the Supreme Court instructions in 2006 was implemented and thereby ensure that water level could be raised to 142 feet.
He also wanted to know why an International Classical Tamil Conference is being organised when the Indian government did nothing to stop the homicide of thousands of Tamils in Sri Lanka.
