On speculations that BJP might join hands with either DMK or AIADMK since Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has not hit out at either of the parties at a public meeting yesterday, he said “we have not taken any stand on that. Even if we take it, we would not like to announce it now.”
DMK president M Karunanidhi on Friday took exception to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) report on the 2G spectrum scandal.
He contended that there were huge differences between the draft prepared by the JPC and the documents available with the Department of Telecommunications.
“There are a lot of differences between the conclusions of the JPC draft report and the documents from the department. So, he (Baalu) has said he was forced to send those documents to all JPC members and had sent copies of those important documents,” Karunanidhi told reporters in Chennai.
Asked about the proposed ordinance to save convicted legislators from immediate disqualification, Karunanidhi said it was a legal issue and he was not ready for a discussion whether it was right or wrong.
